Shanea Strachan was born and raised in Freeport, Grand Bahama, Bahamas. A graduate of the Class of 2008 of St. Georges' High School at the age of 17, Shanea left Grand Bahama in pursuit of her dreams of higher education.
She enrolled at Northeast Community College in Norfolk, Nebraska majoring in Broadcasting: Radio & Television where she was awarded a Full-Tuition Forensics Scholarship. Her participation in Speech & Debate, qualified her for the American and National Forensics Association Nationals both years where earned over a dozen trophies for her dramatic interpretation and public speaking performances.
In 2012, after obtaining her Associate of Arts Degree, Shanea enrolled at New Mexico Highlands University in Las Vegas, New Mexico where she earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Media Arts: Video & Audio Production making her the first Bahamian student to graduate from the institution. Upon completing her degree, she published her first book a memoir entitled, "Life Doesn't JUST Go On."
After completing her studies Shanea relocated to Albuquerque, New Mexico where she worked for two years as an Actress & Crew Member on numerous productions in the New Mexico Film Industry. Then relocated in 2016, to Atlanta for one year in the Georgia Film Industry. Her credits include working on productions for BET, NBC, Fox and Paramount Pictures.
In May of 2017, Shanea returned home to the Bahamas where she works full-time in Television for the Broadcasting Corporation of the Bahamas. She has produced several programs for the ZNS Television Network as well as various short segments and commercials for Bahamian Television.
In February of 2019, she founded the charity "Hearty Burritos" on the island in which she devotes her time to serving the less fortunate.
